The General Secretariat of the Parliament confirmed in a statement on Wednesday, that “the House of Representatives has begun the necessary procedures regarding the crime of the Beirut port explosion.”

The statement considered, “Any action by the judiciary against presidents, ministers, and deputies is considered a violation of its authority, because this matter is not within its competence.”

Press information indicated that “the General Secretariat of the Parliament sent a letter to the Ministry of Interior about informing the Court of Cassation stance on the prosecution of presidents and deputies.”
