Patients’ lives are in peril as hospitals run out of diesel fuel

The Syndicate of Hospitals in Lebanon has warned in a statement today that, “a major issue confronting the sector, as hospitals are unable to procure diesel fuel to run generators due to power outages lasting at least 20 hours each day.”

“A number of hospitals are endangered with the lack of diesel fuel within hours,” according to the Syndicate, “putting patients’ lives in jeopardy.”

“Work promptly to rectify this situation in order to avoid an eventual health disaster,” the Syndicate said.
