Patriarch Al-Rahi: Lebanon needs a strong state that distances itself from any regional conflicts

The Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, received at the patriarchal edifice in Bkerke, the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly, Jean-Louis Borlange.

The delegation expressed its solidarity with the Lebanese people, expressing “France’s intention to continue helping the Lebanese people to overcome the crises that Lebanon is going through,” stressing “the importance of following up on the ongoing preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections.”

The delegation praised “Patriarch Rahi’s spiritual and patriotic stances calling for the neutrality and for an international conference for Lebanon.”

Al-Rahi thanked the “parliamentary delegation for the visit, and through them France, for its permanent support for Lebanon,” stressing that “what Lebanon needs today is a strong country that distances itself from any regional and external conflicts,” stressing “the necessity of holding parliamentary and presidential elections on time.”
