Patriarch Rahi arrived in Cairo on a pastoral visit that will continue until Wednesday, during which he will meet the Secretary-General of the Arab League, and he is expected to meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.

The visit will begin Saturday at noon with a meeting with Pope Tawadros II, later, the celebration of Saint Joseph’s Day will be held during a mass at the Maronite Church of Saint Joseph in Daher, central Egypt.

Rahi had arrived Friday evening at Cairo Airport, where he was received at the Hall of Honor by Archbishop Georges Shehan, Archbishop of Egypt, Sudan and North Africa for the Maronites, the Lebanese Ambassador in Cairo Ali Al-Halabi and a number of priests.
