Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Rahi received Thursday in Bkerki MP Ibrahim Kanaan, who highlighted the obligation to form a new government in the nearest time possible.

“A government is needed; President Michel Aoun and the Prime Minister-designate are making daily efforts, and we hope this pace yields a positive result,” the lawmaker told reporters following the meeting.

On a different note, Kanaan denounced the smearing campaigns against Bkerki, stressing that marginalization and erratic accusations must end.
