Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi, welcomed this Wednesday afternoon in Bkirki, the Ambassador of Spain to Lebanon, Jose Maria Ferre, who said after the meeting: “We were honored to visit His Beatitude, and it was an occasion during which we discussed a number of matters, including those related to the current situation in Lebanon, especially the conditions of the Christian community, in addition to the initiative launched by His Beatitude regarding the neutrality of Lebanon and the International Conference for this country. We affirm, in this context, Spain’s interest in these issues and its support for this initiative. ”

“We also touched on the issue of Lebanon’s identity, the identity of the Christian community in this East, and the role of Lebanon, which must be restored with the help of the international community,” he added.

Patriarch Rahi has also met with the former mayor of Tripoli, Abdel Kadir Alam El-Din, who affirmed: “The meeting was a confirmation to the need for all Lebanese to pull together in order to get out of the crisis. Lebanon and all its sects are a country for all its people.”
