Governor of Baalbek-Hermel, Bashir Khudr, mentioned that “some are circulating news about security information regarding the intention of terrorist groups to detonate the columns of Baalbek Castle.”

Khudr added in a post on his page via the “X” platform, clarifying that “this news is completely untrue and baseless, and the reason for its circulation is the tremendous success of the tourist season in Baalbek this year, with large numbers of tourists, especially foreigners, and the aim is to intimidate them.”

He concluded by saying, “Leave Baalbek in peace!”

This comes after a report in “Al-Nahar” newspaper today, stated that “a security source received a serious report indicating the existence of a plan by radical terrorist groups to detonate the columns of Baalbek Castle, as it is a symbol and an idol, and to send a direct message to Hezbollah in its stronghold.”
