Caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab presided over a meeting of the Ministerial Economic Committee held at the Grand Serail, which was attended by Ministers Zeina Akar, Raoul Nehme, Imad Hoballah, Ramzi Al-Mcharrafieh, Ghada Chreim, Chairman of the Parliamentary Economic Committee, MP Farid Al-Boustany, Director General of the Presidency of the Republic, Antoine Choucair, Secretary-General For the Council of Ministers, Judge Mahmoud Makiya and Adviser to the Minister of Finance for Economic Affairs, Muhammad Jezzini.
The ration card plan’s study was finished, with the condition that the ministers of economics and social affairs conduct a news conference early next week to announce the card’s electronic platform’s debut.
In the presence of Minister Ramzi Mcharrafieh and President of the General Labor Union, Bechara El Asmar, Diab hosted a delegation of the Union of Independent Interests and Private and Public Institutions at the Grand Serail.
In view of the severe economic conditions, particularly the fuel crisis, the delegation outlined the persistent challenges that these institutions face.
Diab, for his part, emphasized the principle of equality in all sectors, with their various job titles, as well as the equality of independent interests in the public sector, and emphasized the unification of efforts to obtain this legitimate right, promising to provide all assistance and facilities to do so.
The delegation expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his interest in and efforts to meet their legitimate demands, as well as his insistence on including independent interests and institutions in a decree allowing for the payment of a month’s salary in two payment and an increase in transportation allowance.
