PM Mikati calls for tightening restrictions to avoid COVID-19 spread

Prime Minister Najib Mikati urged “strict adherence to the preventative measures implemented to restrict the spread of the COVID-19,” and urged “the different security services not to be indulgent in this subject within their capabilities.”

He stressed “the importance of the concerned security, health, and administrative authorities’ strictness in implementing the preventive measures issued by the committee, respectively,” while presiding over a meeting held in the Grand Serail of the “Health Committee charged with following up on the implementation of measures against the outbreak of the virus and its variants.”

He reiterated, “The necessity of vaccination for all age groups, because immunization is more than a necessity, in anticipation of a rise in the number of infections during the festive period, knowing that statistics indicate that 85 percent of infected patients who needed to enter the hospital are unvaccinated.”
