PM Mikati welcomes new papal ambassador, other Grand Serail visitors

Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Wednesday welcomed at the Grand Serail Papal Ambassador to Lebanon, Monsignor Paolo Borgia, who paid him an acquaintance visit upon assuming his duties in Lebanon.

During the meeting, Mikati affirmed that “he counts on the efforts of the Vatican, with its moral authority and relations with all parties, to push for consensus among the Lebanese in a bid to hold presidential elections.”

Mikati separately met with Caretaker Ministers of Tourism and Finance, Walid Nassar and Youssef Al-Khalil, with whom he discussed fresh developments. He also had an audience with MP Bilal Abdullah, and former MP Bahia Hariri.

MP Hariri informed Mikati that Sidon resident, Dr. Ghassan Abu Alfa, had succeeded in creating a group of immunotherapy drugs for people with liver cancer that have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.

For his part, Prime Minister Mikati affirmed, “This achievement is a new pride for Lebanon and for the efforts of the Lebanese, wherever they are.”

Mikati finally contacted by phone Prime Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and congratulated him on assuming his position.

Mikati wished the Kuwaiti PM success, continued prosperity, and progress.
