After it was reported that Pope Francis will visit Lebanon soon, and after the Vatican’s Foreign Minister, Monsignor Paul Richard Gallagher, announced after his meeting with President Michel Aoun in Baabda, that Pope Francis assured him that he wanted to visit Lebanon, and while others speculated that this visit would be after the parliamentary elections, Lebanon’s ambassador to the Vatican, Farid Al-Khazen, confirmed via an interview with “Voice of Lebanon” that His Holiness Pope Francis has a clear and proposed intention to visit Lebanon, but not in the near future.
