Port martyr’s families to keep on activities until immunities are lifted

Families of the port martyrs with a number of the wounded and activists headed towards the barbed wire area in the middle of the road separating Verdun and UNESCO.

they confirmed that “in the event that President Nabih Berri cancels the session today, the moves will continue, pending a new date in Parliament.” They stressed that they “will not get tired or bored before the immunities are dropped.”

Rita Hitti, who lost 3 members of her family in the port explosion, described the MPs heading to the session as “cowards”, noting that she “noticed the passing of a number of ambulances, believing that they were means of transportation for MPs.” She wished that “everyone with a conscience should lft their immunity, so truth can be reached.”

The sit-ins are chanting slogans against the House of Representatives, and anyone who refuses to lift immunities, describing the session as a session of “shame”.
