President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, congratulated the Lebanese basketball team for qualifying to the World Cup.

Lebanon’s qualification came after defeating India (95-63) in the fourth group of the qualifiers for the world championship.

The President wrote the following on “Twitter”:

“Congratulations to Lebanon, the Cedar team, for qualifying to the Basketball World Cup.

Lebanon will not be absent from international arenas as long as it has players whose roots are in our good land, with solid intentions and fierce ambitions”.
