US State Department spokesman Ned Price urged the Lebanese authorities, to complete a quick and transparent investigation into the Beirut port explosion, stressing that his country opposes intimidation of the judiciary in any country.
He said: We support the judiciary independence in Lebanon, judges must be safe from threats and intimidation, including Hezbollah.
Price added: “We have been always very clear, that Hezbollah’s terrorists and their illegal activities, threaten the Lebanese security, stability and sovereignty. We believe that Hezbollah cares more about its own interests and that of Iran, more than the interests of the Lebanese people.”
