“Probes will prove whether subsidized products were distributed fairly,” says Abou Faour

Member of the ‘Democratic Gathering’ bloc, MP Wael Abu Faour, stated that “days and investigations will prove to Lebanese whether the distribution of subsidized products was implemented in a transparent way.”

He added that the subsidy file was an organized plundering for the citizens’ money and their savings. “Till this moment, the investigations do not appear to be the same as the thefts that took place,” he said.

Abou Faour said that “Maroun Saker obtained 80 percent of the agricultural fertilizers subsidized by the state, where he received 10,000 tons out of a total of 2,400 tons distributed to entire traders.”

Abou Faour wondered whether this support have reached the farmers or it was stored and smuggled or sold on the black market?” The answer is set before the judiciary and relevant ministries.
