Caretaker Minister of Public Works and Transportation, Dr. Ali Hamieh, on Wednesday said via his Twitter account: “Is it any acceptable that the removal of accumulated waste from rainwater drainage channels on highways becomes the job of the Ministry of Public Works’ contractor teams? Is this their role? Who will be held responsible if it rains and the highway overflows with rainwater? Why has this accumulated trash not been removed from roads yet?”
