The Qatari Foreign Ministry pointed out, in an official statement, that “Qatar welcomes the announcement of the new Lebanese government formation, headed by Najib Mikati, and expresses its wishes for the government to succeed in carrying out its tasks.”

The statement affirmed Qatar’s full support of the new government in order to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Lebanese people for development, progress and prosperity.

Doha reiterated its permanent readiness to “stand by the Lebanese people, to enhance security and stability in the country.”
