Qatar’s Emir, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, expressed his regret, stating that “it is unfortunate for the suffering of the Lebanese people to persist due to political calculations.” He emphasized that “the danger is looming over Lebanon’s state institutions, and we stress the necessity of finding a solution to the presidential vacuum.”
Furthermore, in his speech at the opening session of the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Qatari Emir affirmed that “we must not accept the injustice imposed on the Syrian people as fate, nor should we ignore the injustice inflicted on the Syrian people.”
He pointed out that “we continue to coordinate international efforts to ensure adherence to the Doha Agreement to prevent Afghanistan from slipping into an intractable crisis.” He added, “We call for a peaceful resolution to the Yemeni crisis through dialogue, and we support the mission of the Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to resolve the Yemeni crisis.”
He also noted that “Israel responds to peace and Arab normalization initiatives with stubbornness and extremist nationalist and religious fundamentalism in government coalitions, further settlement expansion, the Judaisation of Jerusalem, and tightening the siege on Gaza. The Palestinian people should not remain prisoners of Israeli occupation and successive Israeli governments’ rejection of any fair political solution.”
