The Army Command – Directorate of Guidance issued the following statement

In reference to the previous statement dated July 1, 2023, regarding the killing of two individuals in Qornit Al-Sawda area, the Army Command urges all Lebanese citizens to demonstrate responsibility, exercise self-restraint, prioritize civil peace, and refrain from succumbing to rumors or preempting the investigation.

The Command also confirms that military units continue to deploy and implement security measures in the area. The army is conducting an investigation into the matter under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities, in fulfillment of its national duty.

According to information from “Al-Jadeed,” the Lebanese Army Intelligence has arrested suspects from Dinniyeh in connection with the Qornit Al-Sawda incident, and investigations are ongoing.

Furthermore, MTV News reported the arrest of five individuals from Bsharri, who are currently under investigation.
