Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut
The president of the Union of Travel and Tourism Agencies in Lebanon, Jean Abboud, revealed that “the tourist season will begin with the influx of tourists starting from June 20th.” He expects that “the number of arrivals at Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut will be very high, exceeding 15,000 passengers per day during the summer period, from mid-July to the end of August.”
In a statement, Abboud appealed to the authorities responsible for Beirut Airport to “work on enhancing the readiness of the airport at all levels, ensuring electricity, cooling, and improved management, in order for the airport to be fully prepared to receive expatriates, overseas workers, and incoming tourists to Lebanon, and to prevent encountering the problems we have witnessed in previous years.” He emphasized the “necessity of taking all precautions to avoid falling into prohibited actions during the peak tourist season.”
Abboud announced that “the ticketing market in Lebanon is witnessing a significant growth in 2023, reaching a rate of approximately 68 percent compared to 2022. This confirms that the country is returning to stability and people have resumed spending on travel.”
