Maronite Patriarch, Mar Beschara Boutros Rahi, called on the security services to reinforce the protection of the Lebanese crossings, and we pray that the officials sto working for their own interests and work for the country’s best interests instead.

Rahi asked: “Why is Lebanon deprived of electing a president? Why is the pact that states that the President must be a Maronite Christian, the Prime Minister a Sunni Muslim, and the Parliament Speaker a Shiite Muslim be violated?”

“We are committed to the national constants, that is, all constitutional institutions, the coexistence with equality pact, and Lebanon’s sovereignty over all its lands,” he added.
