The Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, affirmed from the Druze house in Verdun, that the people are poor and the state is decomposing as if it was made of cardboard. It is our responsibility to let our people hear a word of hope for the future, and our role is to address the consciences of officials.
Rahi added: We hope for a new dawn with Sheikh Al-Akl, because we entered a new world, and in conscience, we cannot be in the position of a spectator, our only interest is the interests of our people, and we all feel that we are strangers in this country. I greet the brothers in the monotheistic Druze sect, and we seek to do good and cooperate among us, despite everything.
For his part, Sheikh Al-Aql Sami Abi Al-Muna said after receiving Patriarch Al-Rahi: Between Bkerke, the Maronites, and the Druze there is a contract of love, brotherhood, and an indissoluble common coexistence. We built it together and we will continue together and with all sects in Lebanon and all segments of Lebanese society.
He added: “We are keen on the role that Bkerke plays, and we hope that we will be together for the sake of one Lebanon, which has become in a deplorable situation. We are responsible for creating a positive atmosphere in the country. Our mission is not a political one, but we have to pave the way for creating this positive atmosphere.”
