Caretaker Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Minister, Charbel Wehbe, visited today Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, with whom he reviewed “the internal political conditions and developments in the region.”

The visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to Iraq and its significance under these circumstances also featured high during their discussions, as it serves to preserve coexistence, Christian presence and continuous dialogue in this region.
