Beirut Governor Judge Marawan Aboud received in his office on Tuesday German Ambassador to Lebanon Andreas Kindl at the head of a German delegation that included representatives of the Port of Hamburg and a number of accompanying companies.

They both discussed the reconstruction plan for Beirut Port after the massive blast on August 4. Kindle briefed Aboud about the details of the project, which would secure about 50,000 new job opportunities for young people. Global and European countries will be invest in reconstructing the port to regain it regional and international role.

Both parties stressed on the importance and necessity of keeping the comprehensive social, environmental, and humanitarian integration between the port and the city, being one of the main foundations for the city’s growth and prosperity.

The full details of the reconstruction plan for Beirut’s port will also be announced during a press conference to be held by the German authorities next Thursday.
