Restaurants Syndicate declares state of tourism emergency, amid fuel outages!

The Head of the Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants, Cafes, Nightclubs and Pastries in Lebanon, Tony Rami, declared a state of tourism emergency, amid diesel fuel shortages and outages even on the black market.

Rami warned that touristic companies and firms would shut down in the next 48 hours.

Rami said in a statement: “Electricity and generators are two basic needs for restaurants to maintain raw materials and food safety.”

He added that if the situation continues the restaurant owners will be obliged to provide only one of the two meals per day either lunch or dinner, which will inevitably lead to a disaster.”

Rami appealed to concerned authorities to take the required measures immediately, and find a solution for this dilemma, which coincides with the peak of the touristic season.”
