Minister of Public Health Dr. Firas Abiad, confirmed following a meeting with the ministerial committee dedicated to following up on Corona that “the epidemiological situation in Lebanon and neighboring countries is getting worse, as there are 16 suspected “Omicron” cases.”

Abiad added: “If public utilities will violate the preventive measures imposed to curb corona, we will not hesitate to close it, and we will seriously follow up on the procedures at the airport so that we do not eventually reach to lockdown measures.”

He also indicated that the general mobilization ends at the end of the year and there is a request for extending it, especially amid the high number of infections in Corona. “We would like to inform citizens that there are fears of a new wave, and the hospitals unable to keep pace with the increase in injuries, and therefore the people should adhere to these procedures,” Abiad said.
