Russia provides Lebanon with satellite images Beirut Port Blast

Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Minister, stated that “Russia handed over to Lebanon satellite images related to the Beirut Port Blast ”

Lebanon’s Foreign Minister, Abdallah Bou Habib, confirmed his receipt of the satellite images of the port and stated, “We will hand them over to the judiciary so that they can contribute to uncovering the truth.”

It is worth noting that the President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, requested that the Russian Ambassador, Alexander Rudakov, inform Moscow authorities of Lebanon’s desire to obtain satellite images of the explosion site in Beirut’s port.

Aoun referred to President Vladimir Putin’s announcement a few days ago about his country’s willingness to provide Lebanon with satellite images of the day the tragedy occurred, and he formally asked Ambassador Rudakov to inform the Russian authorities of Lebanon’s desire to obtain these images, “perhaps they provide additional information that can be used to benefit the Judicial Investigation into the crime.”

Ambassador Rudakov, for his part, promised to forward the presidential request to the Russian leadership to take action accordingly.
