The Head of the “Lebanese Kataeb” Party Sami Gemayel continues his tour in the United States, and he concluded his visit to Washington with a meeting with members of the US Congress.

Gemayel, said in a television interview: “We share common concerns with the Americans, and a decision was issued confirming the principles we demand, which is mainly the independence of the judiciary and protecting it from political interference, as well as Lebanon’s sovereignty and independence, the rejection of any weapon outside the framework of the state, confronting corruption and establishing transparency, holding the elections on time, and respecting the constitutional deadlines.”

Gemayel stressed that the priorities are clear: “Holding the parliamentary elections on time, supporting the Lebanese army, protecting the judiciary and its independency, supporting the Lebanese people to be able to withstand the current stage and protecting Lebanon’s sovereignty.”

Gemayel stressed that supporting the army is essential for the Americans to protect stability and Lebanese amid the circumstance we are going through. He said that meeting focused on providing health and social aid to Lebanon, and discussed the education, pharmaceutical, and health sector concerns, so that the US administration can address Its help to Lebanon through non-governmental institutions and the private sector directly to stand by the Lebanese people amid these tough times.
