Sami Gemayel: Hezbollah is attempting to destabilize Lebanon’s Judiciary

“Hezbollah is attempting to destabilize Lebanon’s Judiciary,” according to Sami Gemayel, the Head of the Lebanese Kataeb Party.

Gemayel explained: “Hezbollah attempted to seize control of all aspects of Lebanon’s government. They pushed for their ally to be elected as Lebanon’s president, then grabbed control of the parliament and ultimately the government.”

“They are now attempting to destroy the judiciary,” he continued, “an institution that has held firm in the face of all threats to the judge who is attempting to do his job.”

“For Hezbollah, the solution resides in dismissing the judge, and that’s why the scenario for us is that they’re attempting to demolish the judiciary and put the Lebanese Army in a very tough position,” he stated.

Gemayel’s charges come after members of “Hezbollah” and the “Amal” movement staged a protest in front of Beirut’s Palace of Justice, accusing the government of “politicizing” the investigations into the August 2020 Beirut Port Blast.
