The head of the Lebanese Phalange Party, Sami Gemayel, stressed the need to involve the expatriates in choosing all parliament seats, just like the residents, and tweeted:

“We presented on 11/12/2018 a proposed law to abolish the articles related to allocating 6 seats to non-residents to establish the right of Lebanese residing abroad to vote for the 128 seats.”

And he added: “The Lebanese expatriate has an essential role in political life, and we will not accept its marginalization, and he stamped his tweet with the hashtag The expatriate is also Lebanese, and attached the tweet with a picture of the law proposal.”
