Sawt Beirut International condemned the “heinous crime” that affected the Al-Galaa building in Gaza, which houses a number of press offices of local and international media organizations, most notably the American Associated Press and Al Jazeera.
It considered, in a statement, that targeting press institutions and attacking journalists is unacceptable, and therefore it is the targeting of international laws and charters that provide for the protection of journalists in international and non-international conflicts.
It affirmed that, accordingly, “it is targeting the international laws and conventions that provide for the protection of journalists in international and non-international conflicts”.
It also considered that “after Israel was unable to justify its barbarity against the Palestinians, it decided to silence the voice and obliterate the facts by targeting the media to prevent it from exercising its sacred role in transmitting the image from inside Gaza to the whole world”.
