The General Labor Union will embark on strike tomorrow, Thursday, “to build a national salvation government.”
The following are the planned movement and assembly points:
North:
Departure at nine in the morning from Tripoli/Al-Tal School Street behind the municipality in front of May School.
Lebanon mountain:
Departure at 10 am from the Chouf – Baakleen roundabout.
Beirut:
Departure at 11:30 a.m. from the headquarters of the General Labor Union.
At 13:00 from Beirut Airport/MEA Triangle.
South:
10:00 – Saida / Fishermen’s Syndicate Square, the sea corniche
11:30 – Tyre – in front of the Electricity Company office.
Bekaa:
10:00 – Baalbek / Baalbek’s southern entrance, in front of the Jabali station.
10:00 – Zahle / highway in front of the Bekaa Water Corporation.
10:00 – Chtaura / Chtaura Square in front of Societe Generale Bank.
Tomorrow’s walkout will include agricultural unions, water workers in Beirut and Mount Lebanon, bank employees, freight forwarders at Beirut’s port, and drivers unions.
Middle East Airlines employees will stop working for one hour too.
The unions of workers and officials at Zahrani oil facilities on Wednesday announced their support for the strike declared by the GLC on Thursday, calling on workers at the facilities to join the strike.
