The Minister of National Defense Maurice Sleem received Ukraine’s Ambassador to Lebanon Ihor Ostash, accompanied by the Colonel Viacheslav M. Toptun — Defence Attache, who presented the developments of the Ukrainian-Russian crisis.

Minister Sleem affirmed Lebanon’s firm belief in the necessity of maintaining international peace and security, and the importance of countries’ respect for international legitimacy, hoping that “a political solution to the current crisis will be reached soon.”

The Minister of Defense reviewed with MP Qassem Hashem and former Minister Pierre Raffoul the general situation.
