Lead Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs and Security Peter Stano confirmed in an interview with Al-Hadath channel that sanctions against Lebanese officials are possible, but no decision has been taken yet, stressing that “we are considering sanctions against those who are blocking solutions in Lebanon.”

“The incentives and sanctions against Lebanon are at present just internal discussions,” Stano explained, stressing that a decision will be taken regarding Lebanon soon because the situation has become an emergency.

“We are well aware of the difficulties that the Lebanese people are witnessing, and we support them. However, we will take serious measures towards those blocking solutions,” Stano concluded.
