Statement by Lebanese army after tripartite meeting in Naqoura

The Army Command – Orientation Directorate issued the following statement: “On May 19, 2022, a tripartite meeting was held in Ras Naqoura, headed by the Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon and Head of Mission, Major General Aroldo Lazaro, and in the presence of a delegation of Lebanese Army officers headed by the Lebanese government coordinator to the United Nations’ force, Brigadier General Mounir Shehadeh.

The Lebanese side addressed the daily and repeated Israeli attacks on Lebanese sovereignty by land, sea and air, and reaffirmed Lebanon’s commitment to Resolution 1701 and all its implications.

The Lebanese side also stressed the need for the Israeli enemy to withdraw from all occupied Lebanese territories, including: Shebaa Farms, the Kfar Shuba Hills, the occupied northern part of the town of Ghajar, and the 17 points considered as a permanent breach.
