The head of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, noted that “today we commemorate the 27th anniversary of the bombing of Our Lady of Deliverance Church, and nothing is known yet about the clues of this crime, like the crime of the Beirut Port explosion, which a few days ago was the 6-month anniversary of its occurrence, and this is not to mention Noting that, between the years 2005 and 2010, we witnessed nearly 20 assassinations and attempted assassinations of Lebanese, sovereign, intellectual, social and political figures, and also the investigation did not reach anything into these crimes.

Geagea affirmed that “the chain of ignorance of the perpetrator in all these crimes was not a mere coincidence, but rather, frankly, it was due to the fact that the authority in its essence in Lebanon remains the same, since 1994 when the Our Lady of Deliverance Church was bombed until August 4, 2020, when the port explosion occurred.  considering that even if some of the faces have changed, since we have Michel Aoun instead of Emile Lahoud, the authority is, in essence, the same as that of the Syrian-Lebanese security authority that after 2005 and replaced the “Syrian” by “Hezbollah.”

Geagea’s words came in a televised speech after a mass that was held by the Keserwan Coordinator of the “Lebanese Forces” party at the Church of Our Lady of the Nahuas – Zouk Mikael, on the 27th anniversary of the explosion of this church. Geagea stressed that “the Syrian-Lebanese security system at the time blew up the Our Lady of Deliverance Church for a very simple reason, in order to dissolve the“ Lebanese Forces ”party and arrest its leaders and was very interested in doing so because it knows the certainty of knowledge, as a result of the experiences that have occurred. Between the years 1975 and 1995, the “forces” are a sovereign party par excellence and want the independence and freedom of Lebanon and the establishment of an effective state in it. Of course, this authority, in its actual essence, whether it is in its Syrian part or “resistance”, does not want freedom, sovereignty, independence, or the establishment of an actual state in Lebanon.

In response to those who claim that the Patriarch’s proposal for an international conference is inconsistent with Lebanese sovereignty, Geagea said, “More than hitting this sovereignty in Lebanon are those who are proving to say similar words at the present time. When the peace and war decision is confiscated in the country, when there is an illegal weapon alongside the Lebanese army, when assassinations take place in the dozens, and soon hundreds will be touched, when the bombing operations take place, and when the Lebanese-Syrian borders and other borders are violated, all this is not considered for them a violation of sovereignty, except that when Lebanon seeks the help of its friends in the international and Arab communities to rise again and for the Lebanese citizen to return to live with an acceptable level of dignity, then in their view it is an attack on sovereignty.
