The Ministry of Telecommunications announced in a statement that “the cost of international calls is paid in foreign currencies, because international operators calculate the tariff in fresh dollars and this is imposing huge burdens on the treasury, which bans the Lebanese state from paying its financial dues to the international operators.”

The ministry has put into effect, the necessary decision to amend the tariff on international phone calls issued from the fixed and cellular networks belonging to the Ministry of Telecommunications to the countries, in a way that covers the international cost, starting from November 1, 2021.”

The Ministry of Telecommunication confirmed in the statement, “It is taking this measure to be able to continue to secure international phone calls with good quality, knowing that this measure will not affect the cost of local and international calls via whatsapp, facetime, IMO, Botim, Viber, and other means of communication via OTT technology.” ”
