Ministry of Economy and Trade,  has set the price and weight of the Lebanese “white bread” bundle, to the consumer, in bakeries and stores, on all Lebanese territories, based on the price of wheat on the international stock exchange, and on the high exchange rate of the dollar, and based on the high price of the market  fuels, , as well as the high transportation cost of flour, from the mills to the bakeries and the transfer of bread from the bakeries to the sales centers, and due to the increase in the number of hours of power outages and the increase in generators’ operation, and due to the increase in the wages of workers in this field. The bakeries decreased the amount of sales to the consumer through distributors from 90% to 70% of its production quantity of bread bundles, and based on the study conducted by the Ministry of Economy and Trade to determine the quantity of ingredients required to produce the best quality of Lebanese bread for the consumer.

And in light of the stressful economic conditions and the low purchasing power that citizens suffer from, and through bakery unions’ sympathy with them,” the price and weight of Lebanese “white bread” bundle was set according to the following:

In the bakery to the consumer: a large bundle, with a weight of not less than 915 grams, at a price of 4500 L.L.Maximum.
A medium-sized bundle, with a weight of not less than 365 grams, at a price of 2750 L.L. Maximum.

– In the store to the consumer: a large size bundle, with a weight of not less than 915 grams, at a price of 5000 LL. Maximum.
A medium-sized bundle, with a weight of not less than 365 grams,
at a price of 3250 L.L. Maximum.
