“The final word lies under judiciary’s competency,” says ministry of Foreign Affairs

The termination of the election process for Lebanese living abroad was declared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“This is the greatest logistical effort in Lebanon’s modern history,” said Hadi Hashem, Director of Expatriates at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, adding that “we are continuing to strive to assure the arrival and receipt of the monies.”

He went on to say that “the overall voter turnout in the globe was approximately 60%, which is a really excellent number.”

Hashem also stated that “violations and impurities witnessed in the electoral process were immediately addressed, and we are waiting for the records to arrive, and they will be referred to the judges as they decide whether or not to count the votes,” emphasizing that “the final word lies under judiciary’s competency, but we deal only with violations on the ground.”
