Minister of Interior and Municipalities Bassam Mawlawi revealed that dangerous material exist in the Zouk power plant, which may be similar to the ammonium nitrate that caused the port’s explosion.
Mawlawi warned about the power plants’ situation and the dangerous repercussions of the presence of these materials. He handed the Council of Ministers a summary including information and pictures about the dangerous materials in Zouk power plants. Sawt Beirut International obtained a copy of this summary.
In this context, Mawlawi assured that the situation is dangerous and requires rapid preventive measures to avoid a tragedy.
