Total Energy: Consultative meetings before drilling exploration well in Block 9

Total Energies E&P Block 9 – Lebanon Branch, the operator company, announced in a statement that in preparation for exploration drilling activities off the coast of Lebanon in Block 9, they have published an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) study on May 15, 2023, on the website of the Lebanese Petroleum Administration and Total Energies Lebanon for public review.
Adding that it has arranged meetings, aiming to present the project’s findings, and relevant parties were invited to provide their feedback on the study results. The public consultation period lasts for 30 days in accordance with Lebanese regulations. After this period, the final Environmental and Social Impact Assessment report will be submitted to the Ministry of Environment for approval.”

The statement concluded by stating, “Total Energies, along with its partners ENI and Qatar Petroleum, will conduct the exploration drilling operations in Block 9 in accordance with international environmental standards and in compliance with Lebanese laws and regulations.”
