Tourism sector in Zahle will not abide by Eid Al-Fitr closure

The owners of restaurants, hotels, tourist institutions, cafes, and nightclubs in the Zahle region have declared that they have been following all protective measures in all of their establishments since the first day of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, considering the lack of seriousness in executing these decisions equally, they are no longer concerned with full closure decisions.

They have also stated that during the blessed Eid Al Fitr holiday, all restaurants and tourist institutions in Zahle will open their doors and welcome their visitors and customers, while completely implementing all Corona virus prevention steps, wishing everyone a Blessed Eid that brings with it stability for our dear country, Lebanon.

They have as well noted that, in view of the current economic and financial crisis, the tourism sector in Zahle and Central Bekaa has reached rock bottom, and is on the verge of shutting down all of its institutions and displacing all of its workers, due to a lack of funding from relevant ministries and official negligence. They emphasized that the concerned authorities’ full closure decisions are being only applied in a few regions, while other areas are opening restaurants and tourist attractions late at night.
