Jean Abboud, the Chief of the Travel and Tourism Offices, stated that, “We shall begin collecting travel cards and paying them in US dollars as of tomorrow.”

During a TV interview, Abboud noted that “the average ticket price for Dubai and Paris increased 3-4 times in previous days due to payments by bank check. Today, however, prices will start to recover but the Lebanese are unfortunately incapable of paying in dollars.”
