A patrol of the Lebanese army’s intelligence branch arrested on Monday two people involved in drug trafficking operations at the roundabout of Mar Takla – Sed Al Bouchrieh, the Army Command – Directorate of Orientation said in a statement.

The statement said a man, identified by his initials as H.R., accompanied with his wife (S.R.), was caught on charges of trafficking drugs and trying to flee the patrol and resisting its members.

A military handgun, a quantity of drugs and an amount of money were seized.

In the region of Mansourieh, the directorate said it detained M.H., who was accompanied with his son W.H., and seized drugs and financial sums in their possession.

The seized materials were handed over to the concerned authorities and an investigation was launched with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
