UAE Foreign Ministry: The process of withdrawing diplomats and administrators from Lebanon has been completed

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation confirmed the completion of “the process of returning diplomats and administrators in Lebanon to their homeland, amid the current security and political conditions in the Lebanese Republic and in coincidence with the UAE decisions regarding the withdrawal of diplomats and administrators from Lebanon and the ban on travel of the country’s citizens to it.”

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Khaled Abdullah Belhoul, said: “Out of the UAE’s constant keenness on the safety of its citizens abroad, the ministry has communicated with citizens present in Lebanon to coordinate their return to the UAE.”

Belhoul indicated that “all cases were followed up until they reached the homeland safely.”

It is noteworthy that a high-ranking Emirati source had confirmed to Sawt Beirut International (SBI) that “the headquarters of the Emirati embassy in Lebanon will be offered for sale,” adding, “there are no longer any Emirati diplomats or employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lebanon,” noting that “their return is linked to the return of sovereignty for this country.”
