UNICEF: 3 out of 10 children in Lebanon sleep hungry

The UNICEF office in Beirut indicated that “unprecedented crises have impoverished families that were previously in a very fragile situation in Lebanon, and our latest assessment showed that 3 out of 10 children go to sleep hungry or skip meals.”

UNICEF pointed out that “with living on the edge in Lebanon, more than half of the population has become below the poverty line.”

It is noteworthy that UNICEF had also warned last month that “public water networks in Lebanon are on the verge of complete collapse, which will eliminate the possibility of more than four million people’s access to safe drinking water.”
