UNIFIL Spokesperson Andrea Tenenti told the National News Agency in response to reports that an Israeli strike killed Lebanese journalists on November 21 that “we extend our condolences to the families and friends of those killed.” “UNIFIL is shocked and saddened to learn that a group of journalists was hit near Tayr Harfa, in south Lebanon.”
“Intentionally targeting civilians and journalists is a violation of international law and may amount to war crimes,” he continued.
Tenenti emphasized, “We continue to ask all parties to respect their safety and refrain from striking areas where they may be harmed or killed.”
