US State Department confirms Nuland’s visit to Beirut next week.

The US State Department confirmed that “Assistant Secretary of State, Victoria Nuland, will travel to Moscow next Monday, and then move to Beirut, where it is planned to arrive in Lebanon next Friday, and then head to London.”
It stated that “Nuland will meet with representatives of civil society in Beirut and the country’s authorities, to discuss economic reforms and next year’s elections, and then travel to London to discuss a number of global issues with the country’s leaders.”
Nuland served as Assistant Secretary of State for European and Asian Affairs from September 2013 till January 2017, and during former President Barack Obama’s tenure, she specifically supervised issues related to policy toward post-Soviet states.
