“Who would imagine that Lebanon, the East’s light, had hit rock bottom?” ask Patriarch Rahi

Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, is currently presiding over a mass service in appreciation of the beatification of the Capuchin fathers, Leonard Owais Melki and Touma Saleh, at St. Anthony Al-Badawani Church in their town in Baabdat.

“Losing medications risks patients to death, and the number of refugees has exceeded half the number of Lebanese citizens. Who would imagine that Lebanon, the East’s light, had hit rock bottom?” he asked.

“The latest situation has reached the deviation of some judges and their transformation into police tools,” he continued, “and the judiciary is complaining about obstructing decisions and major files that remain frozen, the most important of which is the obstruction of the judicial investigation into the port blast.”

He expressed his sympathies for the army martyr who died in Baalbek, saying, “The army’s job is crucial every day.”
