“Whoever fails to elect new figures is a complicit in the country’s continued demise,” says Archbishop Aoudeh

Archbishop Elias Aoudeh, Metropolitan of Beirut and its Dependencies, told the Greek Orthodox that “mothers’ pain blossoms with joy when they see respectable people and foundations on which to build a healthy society free of corruption.”

“The mother of the one who died in defense of his homeland, sovereignty, freedom and dignity of his children, is the first to blossom when she realizes that her son’s departure was not in vain,” Aoudeh added during his sunday sermon.

“As for the one who fails to fulfill his duty, and whoever considers election day a holiday or a picnic day, or who does not believe that his vote is effective, he harms himself first, and his children, who will not be able to live in a country where chaos and corruption prevail, and justice and equality among the citizens,” he concluded.
